Self Compassion For Change

A Weekend Group Experience March 2026

A Two-Day In-Person Workshop to Help You Stop Beating Yourself Up and Start Moving Forward

Forget the woolly image of self compassion. This isn’t about bubble baths or clichés. It’s about learning to treat yourself (your body, your appetite, your whole messy humanness) like someone you actually care about. That’s the solid ground from which healing your relationship with food and body can truly begin.

And in this workshop, you’ll discover how much easier it feels when you’re practising it alongside others who get it.

🌀 When, Where and How Much?

  • When: Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th March 2026

  • Time: 9.30am – 5pm each day

  • Location: A cosy, residential setting in the BH3 area of Bournemouth, UK (complete with local beaches and friendly feline company!)

  • Investment: £200 + VAT (£240 total)

How does self compassion actually change anything?

Most of us have been taught that the only way to stop bingeing or feel better about our bodies is by pushing harder, criticising ourselves, or piling on guilt. But shame doesn’t motivate us for long — it keeps us stuck in the same painful cycles, feeling like we’ve failed yet again. Self compassion flips that script. It creates the safety and steadiness we need to pause, to listen to ourselves, and to try a different way — one that actually supports healing instead of punishing.

When you start treating yourself like someone you care about, you stop wasting energy on self blame and start building the resilience needed for genuine, lasting change. Self compassion isn’t about letting yourself off the hook — it’s about giving yourself the care and understanding you’ve always needed in order to grow. Without it, recovery is a constant uphill battle. With it, everything starts to shift.

👥 Why Join Us

This workshop is a rare and valuable opportunity to spend two days in the supportive company of an experienced therapist and a small group of people who, like you, are tired of beating themselves up and want to find a healthier way forward. Workshops like this don’t come around often — where you can actually practise self-compassion (no bubble baths required) and discover how powerful it can be when you do it together.

This two-day workshop is all about taking self-compassion out of theory and into real life and finding out how it can become the foundation for change you actually stick with.

You’ll benefit from:

  • Insight and Expertise: Learn from psychotherapist and bestselling author Sarah Dosanjh, who’s lived through her own battles with binge eating and body shame, and knows what it takes to turn compassion into meaningful, lasting change.
  • Personalised Attention: With only 10 people in the room, you won’t get lost in the crowd. Instead, you’ll have space to share openly and receive genuine support in a setting that feels safe and personal.
  • Practical Tools: Forget the fluff — you’ll leave with grounded, evidence-based practices to help you respond to urges, setbacks, and self-criticism with care instead of punishment.
  • Connection and Belonging: When it’s hard to feel compassion for yourself, you can borrow from the group. You’ll experience the relief of being with others who truly understand the struggle, and learn how to let that shared kindness soften your own self-talk.
  • Supportive Atmosphere: Think cosy, safe, and unpretentious — the kind of space where you can breathe out, let your guard down, and be real.
  • Lasting Impact: You’ll walk away not just with tools, but with a renewed sense of hope and the encouragement of a group that truly gets it.

Important: Friendly cats live on the premises, so attendees must be comfortable around pets and not allergic.

Spaces are strictly limited to 10 participants, ensuring an intimate, personal experience.

🌱 What to expect

Step into a welcoming space where you’ll connect with others who know what it’s like to struggle with food, body image, and the constant pressure to change. Through guided discussions, you’ll explore what self-compassion really means (beyond the clichés) and how it can become the foundation for healing your relationship with food and body from a healthier, more sustainable place.

You’ll also take part in personal reflection and experiential practices designed to help you soften your inner critic, ease feelings of “I don’t deserve it,” and learn practical ways to respond to yourself with understanding instead of judgement — especially in those moments when things don’t go to plan.

All of this takes place in a cosy, supportive environment, intentionally designed to feel safe, relaxing, and nurturing. With a group capped at 10 people, you’ll have the chance to build genuine connections, practise compassion together, and leave with a felt sense of belonging as well as the tools to take forward into your everyday life.

Meet your co-hosts 😺

If you have been following me on YouTube you may be familiar with these little furry faces. Otterlie and Oliver will be on the premises so please only attend if you are comfortable with cats. They are very friendly and curious with guests and likely to want to interact.

Meet Sarah

I’m a qualified and BACP-accredited psychotherapist specialising in binge eating — not just through training, but lived experience too. After over a decade of struggling with binge eating and bulimia, it was deep inner work that finally transformed my relationship with food. That journey now informs how I support others.

Since publishing I Can’t Stop Eating (an Amazon bestseller) in 2020, I’ve raised awareness through BBC Radio One, Sky’s Roundtable, BBC Breakfast, and professional trainings. My YouTube videos exploring recovery and self understanding have been viewed over 3 million times.

If this speaks to you, I’d love to welcome you. Booking your place now ensures you won’t miss out on this weekend of insight, reflection and connection.
